The significance of Russia’s accession into the World Trade Organization in August 2012 is difficult to overstate. For almost 20 years, the Russian government worked to transform and refine its internal systems and structures to become a full-fledged member of the WTO.

With Russia’s accession, U.S. businesses are now assured the same level playing field as their international competitors operating in and trading with Russia. Moreover, commitment and adherence to international agreements allow for all business in Russia to take place within a stable framework of transparency, predictability, accountability.
